For all those who would like to take a boat test themselves or are simply interested in doing so. I have completed my certificates for sea and inland navigation (SBF).

I attended an online course to be able to learn flexibly. I did my practical lessons in Düsseldorf at a boating school that prepared me perfectly for the exam. I enjoyed driving the motorboat through the Media Harbour with the funny but strict instructors at my side. After studying hard and feeling fit, I registered for the exam. I wanted to do all three necessary exams in one day, quite surprised by my teachers why I was doing them all at once. Well, I was a bit pressed for time and wanted to get everything done straight away.

Unfortunately, the day of the exam was not my day, the stars did not align well for me. The day started with the practical exam, where I failed because my nervousness got the upper hand, nothing worked. Frustrated and pensive, I went to the theory exam, where my bad luck ran through like a red trail. At the end of the day, I only passed my inland exam and had to make up the practical + sea exam. I was very frustrated and disappointed with myself. Had I learned too little? No, I knew the material like a pistol. It was the nervousness and respect of a foreign boat and an unknown examiner.

I didn't give up, of course, and made the next possible appointment for the exam. I went back a week later and passed everything successfully. I confessed to my examiner, who recognised me immediately, that I could do it, but that my nervousness simply got the better of me. I passed the practical exam thanks to my examiner who finally guided me through the exam 🙂 .

I would like to thank Hendrik who supported me and shared his knowledge with me and all those who cheered me up after my defeat.

I think it's good to write it the way it is.

Es gibt immer eine zweite Chance. Wichtig ist, nie aufzugeben und es noch mal zu machen. Und es zuzugeben, zeigt von Deiner Stärke. Schwache verkriechen sich. Also bleib STARK 😉
