Sometimes life goes against our plans, and that's what happened to us in Roscoff. Actually, we planned to spend only a few days there to wait for a package from Germany with our collected orders. But then everything turned out differently: our on-board toilet failed to work and despite our efforts, no repair was possible. We had to order a new toilet and wait for its arrival in the meantime. This delay unexpectedly extended our stay in Roscoff.
Despite the unforeseen circumstances, we found the opportunity to work on our projects during this time. Hendrik immersed himself in his craft skills and dedicated himself to the boat, installing new parts that we had received in the first package. Meanwhile, I used the time to explore the surroundings and discover new corners of Roscoff. Together we explored the island of Ile de Batz and Marloix.
We met our English jetty neighbours who happened to have the same model of boat the Hanse311 as us. This unexpected commonality led to an exchange of tips and advice that helped us use the limited storage space as well as other aspects of boat life.
Despite the original unwanted delay, these days in Roscoff became an unexpected enrichment. Not only did we learn to deal with unforeseen situations, but we also gained valuable experience and new acquaintances. Sometimes life takes us on detours that ultimately lead us to wonderful experiences.
